3 Cheese Garlic Breadsticks

Do you know what I consider the hardest part about blogging apart from getting your content read? Choosing font for your pictures. Seriously, every time I edit a picture i spend so much time going through different fonts and colors and sizes and positions. It takes more time deciding that them writing my post all together. For this post I got frustrated and kinda said the heck with it and threw one on there. TA-DA!

I love summer. I love heat. What I don’t love is sunburns, which is exactly what I got yesterday! I brought my boys to the pool for the first time this season. A full 3 hours of non stop boy splashing, screaming and fighting fun! This girl got to sit on the sidelines and soak up the sun and read a book. I definitely underestimated the power of UV. But putting the redness aside, it was a very enjoyable day. I love making memories with my kids, that’s one thing that I believe a person always has time for. One thing I will always say yes to.

BUT my day wasn’t as joyful as it sounds. Kitchen fail of the day – oven fire. Gotta love those kitchen blunders. Just proves to show you that all of us bloggers are not flawless and we have quite a few mishaps ourselves. For those of you who do not know, if you have an oven fire, pouring salt on the flames will distinguish them! Hey, you do learn something new every day. Just goes to show you what a 500 degree oven can do!

Anyways, who wants some amazing, ultra cheesy breadsticks! I know I do! I am a seriously breadstick fan! I love working with dough and making my own. There is no need to be afraid of yeast which a lot of people are. I just make sure I keep mine sealed and cold and I always proof my yeast to make sure it’s alive before I add my ingredients so I don’t wonder why after an hour or so I still have this little ball of dough which I have to throw away!

Serving Size – 2 crusts

Ingredients:

Dough:
1 cup water, warm
2 Tbs sugar
2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
2 Tbs oil
2 tsp salt
3-3 1/2 cup water

Breadstick topping (per 1 crust):
1/2 stick butter, softened
2 cloves, minced garlic
1/4 cup parmesan cheese
1 cup mozzarella cheese
1 cup gouda cheese
Salt and pepper

Directions:

In large bowl stir together your water, sugar and yeast. Let sit about 5 minutes until it starts to foam. Stir in oil and salt then gradually add your flour 1 cup at a time. Dump out onto floured surface and knead adding more flour as needed until it forms a smooth ball. Place in greased bowl and cover. Set in warm place to rise, about an hour.

After dough has risen, punch down and split into two sections. Roll into balls and cover and let rise an additional 30 minutes. Meanwhile, pre-heat oven to 500. Mix together your butter and minced garlic in small bowl, set aside. After dough has risen again, take one of your balls and roll into a rectangle (if reserving one dough ball for later use, place in gallon zip lock baggie and refrigerate) on greased baking sheet or pizza stone. Spread butter and garlic mixture on top. Sprinkle with your cheeses and top with some salt and pepper. Bake for about 10 minutes until cheese is melted and edges are browned. Let cool, cut and serve!
